was born in New Jersey of Dutch immigrant parents. Being raised

she learned from a very tender age the value of strong family
relationships. She emerged on the Southern California scene in
the early fifties as an historian.
She has also been a social worker, a high
school teacher, and finally, a licensed clinical psycologist
with a thriving private practice. A Divorced mother of three
adult sons, Dr. McConnell understands from rich and varied experiences,
the challenges and rewards that befall and bless human beings
in the 21st century. Although she was raised in a devout Mormon
family, Dr. Ruth now follows a Hindu spiritual path. She resides
near Los Angeles with her constant companion, Mariah, the wondrous
Australian Shepherd.
"This landmark, essential, humorous
and provocative book on the basics and beginning of caring and
intimate relating through kissing is masterfully executed. This
book demands to be on your table at home, in the office and to
be opened and used often. Give it to a friend."

"In my marriage class at a university,
students discuss dating and kissing, "He's a lousy kisser"
or "He's a great kisser," is heard often. It is significant
to know that kissing is important in dating and in marriage.
This book gives everyone an opportunity to explore and improve
their kissing skills. I highly recommend this book to everyone."
